The Experience
At the Florida Advanced Air Mobility Symposium in May 2026, I participated in discussions and demonstrations focused on the transition from AAM concept development to real-world deployment.
The symposium brought together stakeholders across:
eVTOL aircraft development
FAA certification
aviation infrastructure
vertiport planning
airspace integration
state transportation strategy
public-private partnerships
operations and commercialization
A standout part of the experience was the opportunity to fly the Joby Aviation simulator, providing a direct look at how next-generation eVTOL operations are being translated into the pilot interface and operational environment.
What I Took Away
AAM deployment is not one engineering problem.
It is the coordination of:

Experiencing the Joby simulator alongside the broader policy and infrastructure discussions made that systems-level relationship especially clear.
